In 1863, the first football rules appeared.
In 1869, the concept of goal kick was introduced for the first time.
In 1872, corner kicks were added to the rules of football.
In 1875, the FA installed crossbars for the goal, replacing the ropes previously used.
In 1878, a referee whistled for the first time in a game to signal a foul, and the whistle became the referee’s tool.
In 1891, the penalty kick came, the goal was put on the net, and the referee began to allow the game to be enforced on the field.
In 1902, the Football Association set up a penalty area for the game, and established the penalty kick rule.
In 1958, football games were no longer played with a lineup. Substitutions could be made, but only the injured.
In 1970, at the World Cup in Mexico, the red and yellow cards replaced the referee’s verbal expulsion and warning for the first time.
In 1992, goalkeepers were banned from taking back passes from teammates with their hands.
